With a strong dedication to fostering prosocial goals and a holistic approach to mental health, Calvin D. Armerding, MA, LPC-S, brings over a decade of expertise in Adlerian counseling to his work with adolescents, adults, and couples. His deep knowledge of Adlerian psychology has established him as a prominent voice in the field, leading to frequent invitations to deliver keynote addresses, workshops, and lectures at national and international conferences. Calvin’s presentations, recognized for their practical insights and engaging delivery, cover a broad spectrum of topics, including parenting, couples counseling, and the treatment of depression, all rooted in the Adlerian principles of social interest and cooperation.
In 2024, Calvin earned his Diplomate in Adlerian Psychology, further cementing his commitment to the field. He is passionate about teaching counseling principles and has had the privilege of being a guest lecturer at various undergraduate and graduate programs. Currently, Calvin serves on the faculty of the ICASSI Rudolf Dreikurs Summer School and is the co-founder of the Alfred Adler Fellows Program, a post-graduate training initiative in Adlerian Psychology. He also holds the position of acting President of the South Carolina Society of Adlerian Psychology.

Suzanne Wolcott has been an educator in various settings for over 20 years. She is a mother, a writer and a history lover. Suzanne is a licensed clinical social worker who is committed to compassionate, trauma-informed care for her clients. She cares deeply for her community and believes that the healing work we do on ourselves becomes a gift to those around us. Her background includes work with older adults, inpatient behavioral health, and hospital case management. She currently works with clients who are facing end of life issues, serious illness, grief and loss, and religious trauma. Prior to entering social work, Suzanne earned a Master of Divinity degree, and served as a hospital, hospice and law enforcement chaplain. She lives in central Kansas in a drafty old house with her partner, two children, dogs, cat, accidental chinchilla and chickens. One of her recent accomplishments was growing a 9.5 foot sunflower in her garden. In her spare time, she loves to hike, read, and kayak.

Lindsay K. Hill, M.Ed., LPC-SC, is a licensed counselor, supervisor, and educator based in Greenville, SC. She co-owns Travelers Rest Counseling Associates, where she works with adolescents, adults, and couples, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, women's issues, and relationship dynamics. Passionate about Adlerian psychology, Lindsay co-founded and runs The Alfred Adler Fellows Program, a postgraduate initiative focused on advanced clinical training. She serves on the Board of Directors and Social Justice Committee for NASAP (North American Society of Adlerian Psychology) and teaches at regional, national, and international conferences, where she loves to teach on sex, intimacy, and couples therapy. Outside of her professional pursuits, Lindsay finds great joy in learning from, connecting with, and laughing with her 5-year-old daughter. She is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning, mentorship, and creating meaningful connections. Lindsay holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Clemson University. Description: This workshop will explore techniques and strategies for interpreting early recollections and dreams to help connect with clients, conceptualize their case, and identify necessary therapeutic interventions. Using Alfred Adler's concept of life style and relevant science on memory and dreams, the workshop will propose a practical, simple model for exploring dreams and early memories that will enhance therapeutic alliance and create focus in therapeutic change.

Description: Delve into the intricate dance of initial attractions and the ongoing influence they have on our relational strategies and life goals. This workshop will explore how first impressions and the fantasies they spawn help us to understand and to mold our overarching “life styles”—our unique approaches to perceiving and managing life’s challenges. Through a mix of demonstrations, case studies, and experiential activities, participants will examine how the traits that initially draw us to our partners mirror our deeper values and the strategies we employ to achieve happiness and fulfillment. By unpacking these foundational interactions, attendees will gain insight into how their personal and relational goals shape and are shaped by their strategies for dealing with life’s inevitable challenges. This session offers a robust framework for therapists from various orientations to enhance their understanding of client dynamics and foster richer, more meaningful connections
Course Objectives:

Ethics and Wisdom in Conversation
Course overview: This ethics course will explore ethics as a form of wisdom. Learners will have the opportunity to define and review the purpose and principles of professional ethics as well as consider its intersections with wisdom. Participants will engage with poetry, art, and metaphor as pathways to ethical thinking. Learners will also have the opportunity to explore the ethics of self-care and the importance of the intentional pursuit joy and of hope in sustaining ethical practice. This course will have a robust mixture of teaching, interpersonal engagement, and individual reflection time. Learners will leave this course with a deeper grasp of the importance of ethical thinking and ethical practice.
Course Objectives:
1. Learners will be able to explore concepts of ethics with depth and develop greater understanding of ethical work and practice.
2. Learners will engage both left brained and right brained ways of understanding ethical thought and decision-making.
3. Learners will consider the real-world importance of self-care and joy as avenues to hopeful, ethical practice.
